Massachusetts Seafood AmBASSadors

Do you love seafood and supporting the local food movement?!

We are looking for 5 Massachusetts-based Seafood AmBASSadors (aka seafood lovers!) for a PAID opportunity to partner with Eating with the Ecosystem and Jenny Shea Rawn to help promote Massachusetts seafood. Our selected AmBASSadors will develop content including recipes, images and videos that can be shared on social media to help educate and inspire consumers to purchase and cook with Massachusetts seafood.

You don’t need to be a chef, food expert, Registered Dietitian, seafood expert or incredible home chef to apply! Any Massachusetts resident of any age (over 18 please), all backgrounds, all cooking abilities – no expertise is required. The only requirements are: an appetite for learning about Massachusetts seafood, an interest in trying and cooking lesser known seafood species and a passion for sharing your knowledge. We hope you join us!

Here’s a little bit about the program:

REQUIREMENTS for our MA Seafood AmBASSador team members:

• Travel to/from and attend a two-hour training and tasting in Boston at Red's Best on the historic Boston Fish Pier. Training will take place on July 13th from 10am-12pm.

• Participate in a six month social media partnership with Eating with the Ecosystem (EWTE) that would include:

o Creation of 1 Massachusetts seafood recipe per month and sharing that recipe in: 1 Instagram grid post, 1 Instagram story and 1 Instagram reel per month (July- December). If TikTok is the preferred platform, 2 videos per month of the 1 recipe. Participants may also share on their blog and/or other social media platforms, if applicable and desired.

o Recipes to follow the theme of the month. EWTE and Jenny Shea Rawn will serve as resources to answer questions and give support.

o Timing for posts to go live can be any day during the month.

o Sharing (via Instagram stories) of the other #MASeafoodAmBASSador team posts (cross-promotion).

o Using the campaign hashtags (#MASeafood, #MASeafoodAmBASSasor, #SeafoodiesNE.) and tagging Eating with the Ecosystem, Massachusetts Department of Marine Fisheries (MA DMF), Woods Hole Sea Grant as well as the place of business where the seafood was purchased (optional).

o Providing post content to EWTE for review one week prior to posting.

o Providing social media analytics to EWTE for the campaign posts by each month’s end.

PAYMENT:

• $700 plus $25 seafood stipend per month paid via check. Because this program is funded by a grant from the Massachusetts Department of Marine Fisheries (MA DMF) and the Woods Hole Sea Grant, this payment is non-negotiable.

CONTENT OWNERSHIP:

• All content will be owned by the creator, but Eating with the Ecosystem, MA Department of Marine Fisheries and Woods Hole Sea Grant would have rights to share and repost the content online with credit and tagging given to the creator.
