"Simmering the Sea" book talk with author Sarah Schumann

Join Sarah to hear about the mission that inspired the eco-cookbook Simmering the Sea: Diversifying Cookery to Sustain Our Fisheries. Sarah will talk about Eating with the Ecosystem’s “Eat like a fish!” citizen science project, what it revealed about the availability of local wild seafood in the New England retail marketplace, and how those findings drove Sarah and her colleagues to create this wonderful little cookbook to help New Englanders expand their culinary repertoire and seafood palates.

Participants will be invited to join Sarah in preparing and tasting a recipe from the book’s pages: black sea bass ceviche!
